Is there any fact of life that you would have the comfort of knowing as certainly true? I recently read the book called What I Know for Sure by Oprah Winfrey. Naturally, right from the cover of the book, I put the question to myself: if anything, what would I say I did know for sure? After some thought, I realized that there were some facets of life that I would bet my bottom dollar on.
I have made a promise to myself. To take responsibility for me. Shortly before I started this blog, I started keeping what I dubbed my “Success and Wellness Journal”. Whatever goes in there is a reflection of my commitment to be good to myself and create the life that I want.

For a long time after I first heard this quote, I liked it but did not know how to express its validity or act on its message. But one day, it hit me. After a streak of unremarkable and unproductive days, I had an amazing day:
Place the oxygen mask on yourself first before helping others. This phrase is a part of the safety guidelines at the beginning of every flight. And I understand the point. In order to be helpful to another, one has to be in a sufficiently good, stable condition his or herself when it comes to the issue at hand.
