I see my unrealized dreams and ambitions reflected in this story. I know that I do not want to be this person but I cannot confidently tell myself that where I stand in life is very different from the position depicted here.
Let’s try not to be disheartened if the things we want in life are taking a little time to come along. Make sure you do your best to seek and reach out for them. The success that we want in life rarely comes easy. We could spend time just coveting it or envying the skills, lifestyles, and achievements of others. But there is a lot more to that.
I encountered this very telling concept regarding human behaviour at a conference about workplace management. As defined by Google, the Candle Problem, or Duncker’s Candle Problem, is “a cognitive performance test, measuring the influence of functional fixedness on a participant’s problem solving capabilities”.
